Here's where you can celebrate the Fourth of July in the Memphis area

This Independence Day, celebrate with food, music and fireworks in the Bluff City.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —

1. Arlington’s Star Spangled Spectacular - June 28, 6-9:30 p.m.

The Town is holding their annual Independence Day celebration on Friday, June 28 at the Arlington Sports Complex (11307 Memphis-Arlington Rd). The event will include food vendors and live music leading up to a fireworks show.

2. Overton Square Independence Celebration - June 29, 5-7 p.m.

This fun, family-friendly celebration at Overton Square will include live music from South Bound Band. The kids can enjoy free face painting, balloon art and check out the Fire Museum's vintage fire trucks.

3. Flag City Freedom Celebration - July 2, 6-9:30 p.m.

This celebration will take place at 4885 Bill Knight Ave, with fireworks starting at sundown. Music will be provided by Sherry Oke and food and beverage stands will be available. The family-friendly evening includes a kids zone with inflatables. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

4. Memphis Redbirds Independence Day Celebration - July 3, 6:05 p.m.

Red, white and boom! Enjoy July 4 with baseball, hotdogs and fireworks at AutoZone Park! The old Bluff will be open with inflatables and face painting, and a cookout ticket can be purchased to get access to a buffet of hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans and more ($30). The night will feature the largest postgame fireworks show of the season.

5. Liberty For All Festival & Fireworks - July 3, 5 p.m.

Memphis' largest festival is celebrating independence at Liberty Park. The event will feature live music, kids' inflatable, face painting, carnival games and a family friendly movie. There will be free parking and admission for the whole family. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m.

6. Bartlett Fireworks Extravaganza - July 3, 6 p.m.

The Star-Spangled Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at the Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center (Highway 70 & Appling Road). Enjoy live music from the Bartlett Community Concert Band followed by Kevin & Bethany Paige, a Classic Car "Show & Shine" and food trucks. Click here for a full agenda of the night. 7. Collierville Independence Day Celebration - July 3, 6 p.m. (Rain date: July 4)

This night will be full of musical performances from Alexis Jade & the Gemstones and Soul Shockers and end with an 18-minute fireworks show set to live music. It will take place at H.W. Cox Park.

8. Germantown Fireworks Extravaganza - July 4, 5-10 p.m.

Taking place at Municipal Park, this fireworks extravaganza will celebrate our nation's birthday with live entertainment, crafts, refreshments and, of course, a fireworks display. Some roads will be closed for this event; for more information, click here.

9. Cooper Young 4th of July Parade - July 4, 10 a.m.

Cool off with frozen treats and enjoy music, face painting and an appearance from the Memphis Fire Department at this family-friendly block party celebration, which will take place on at Peabody Elementary on Cooper St. 

10. Central Gardens Association July 4th Parade - July 4, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event will take place at Central Gardens on York Ave. This year's parade will start on York just outside the rear parking lot of Immaculate Conception Cathedral (IC) and march eastward to the 1800 block of York before circling the median to return toward to the IC parking lot. Event organizers encourage children to dress up in costumes celebrating independence. Kids can also enjoy crafts, including decorating bicycles, wagons and trikes.

Beat the heat!

Temperatures in the Mid-South have been rising, and they won't get lower for Independence Day. If you want to stay out of the heat, check out some of Downtown Memphis' restaurants that will be open on July 4 this year, including Aldo’s Pizza Pies, Arcade Restaurant, Bardog Tavern and Slider Inn. You can also check out Shelby Farms Park, where you can get out on the water for canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and pedal boating.
