Here's a look at what's happening around Memphis in September

MEMPHIS, Tenn — Fall is right around the corner! Here's a look at some of the fun Memphis events in September.

All month long

Memphis Jazz Orchestra

The Memphis Jazz Orchestra captures authentic Memphis soul at Alfred's on Beale St. It takes place 6 to 9 p.m. every Sunday until Oct. 20. For a full list of their upcoming events, click HERE.

Hustle & Flow Pilates

Grab a mat and some water for free Pilates classes at Sunset Canopy in Tom Lee Park. They will be held from Sept. 9 to Sept. 30 from 6 to 7 p.m. To register, click HERE.

Summer Art Garden

Check out the Summer Art Garden at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. Artists have created a fantasy landscape in the plaza with whimsical creatures and design. It runs through Oct. 26.

GPAC Concerts in the Grove

Among other exciting events at the Germantown Performing Arts Center, GPAC also hosts its Concert in the Grove series on select Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

Belltower Trivia Night

Challenge your mind at Belltower Coffee at 525 S. Highland St. for trivia night, which begins at 6 p.m. every Wednesday through Dec 18. For a full list of dates, click HERE.

Live & Local Music at Momma's

Come out to Momma's Bar on 855 Kentucky St. for live music from 7 to 10 p.m. every Wednesday night! Located right off Highway 55, Momma's is 21+ at all times and offers a local music experience on an all-weather patio through Dec. 18. Learn more HERE.

Live Open Mic Comedy at Hi Tone hosted by John Miller

All the way through February 2025, the Hi Tone cafe is hosting an open mic comedy night every Wednesday from 8 to 10 p.m. The show is $10 for audience members and free for performers. For tickets and more information, click HERE.

Thursday Night Football at Slider Inn

This fall, Slider Inn is hosting Thursday Night Football at Downtown's biggest outdoor screen every Thursday until Nov. 21. Stop by at 5 p.m. and enjoy the fun. For more information, check out Slider Inn's Instagram.

Line Dancing at Raleigh Library

  • Friday August 30: Memphis-themed movies with Soi #9 parked in the Ravine. 
  • Saturday August 31: Performances by James and the Ultrasounds, Turnstyles and James playing a DJ set. Smoke and Toast will be the food truck. 
  • Sunday September 1: Jeff Hulett and the Church Brothers will be performing. There will also be a vendor market and food provided by Good Groceries and Hot and Heavy Dogs.

901 Day

Beale St. featuring Shell on Wheels

In only one of the many ways to celebrate 901 Day, the City of Memphis, Downtown Memphis Commission, Memphis Grizzlies and L.Y.E Academy are hosting a day-long celebration on Beale Street on Sunday, Sept. 1. It will be a fun-filled day with music, a youth talent show, poetry slam, flash mob, live paintings, giveaways, vendors and more! Big Boogie is set to headline. Mimosa Festival End Of Summer

You can also celebrate 901 Day by sipping mimosas on the river at the Mimosa Festival in Downtown Memphis. It will take place at Fourth Bluff Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Get tickets HERE.

901 Day Memphis Jookin Warz Afterparty

See Memphis' very best dancers performing live downtown on Main Street at the Rumba Room.

Open Genre - 901 Day Edition

There will be 10+ Memphis DJs showcasing their skills and knowledge of Memphis music at Ugly Art Co. Each DJ will have 15-20 minutes to impress the crowd with their mix. Expect to hear everything from Al Green to Young Dolph.

Zoo Rendezvous

Mid-Autumn Festival

Memphis Fitness Fest 2024

Disco Detective: A 70s Soulful Murder Mystery at the Orpheum

MJ the Musical at the Orpheum

Third Annual Step Ahead Fall Bash

Grizzlies Day at AutoZone Park

Memphis Grizzlies fans can meet forward GG Jackson during an autograph signing for Grizzlies Day during the Bulls and Redbirds baseball game. There will also be free inflatables and face painters throughout the game on the Old Bluff. Memphis Pizza Fest

Oktoberfest

Comedy of Errors at Tennessee Shakespeare Company

Memphis Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
