MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rhythm and blues legend Patti LaBelle is set to headline the Classic Concert on Thursday, Sept. 12, and tickets for festivities will soon go on sale, organizers announced Monday, April 1.
Fans can see the performance at The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis as part of a three-day cultural celebration — Sept. 12-14 — for the Southern Heritage Classic. Festivities will start at 8 p.m. with Jammin' Jay Lamont, according to the announcement.
A 13-time Grammy Award-nominated singer, LaBelle began her solo career in the 1970s and has over 50 million records sold worldwide.
Tickets for festive events will go on sale Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m.

The 35th Annual Southern Heritage Classic will showcase the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions facing off against the Tennessee State University Tigers in Memphis at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14. The game will begin at 6 p.m.
