MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Visitors to the Memphis Zoo this summer may see some construction on their journey to see the animals.
Memphis Zoo leaders said construction for changes to the west end of the zoo will begin Monday, June 3, 2024, with pathway closures starting the day before.
They said the Round Barn will be demolished to create green space and room for future exhibits. The aquarium will also undergo maintenance and be closed during the construction.
A map of the affected areas is available at the zoo, on the zoo website, and on the mobile app.
“This project reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing our visitors' experience and ensuring our animals' well-being,” said the zoo. “As we embark on this exciting transformation journey, we thank our visitors for their understanding and support.”
