MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Commemoration and appreciation rang out across downtown Memphis Friday as the city honored Civil Rights activist Ida B. Wells.
It all started with a parade and ended at Robert Church Park where they unveiled a new life-size statue of the journalist. It's the first statue made in Wells' likeness in the country.
