MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Travel superstore Buc-ee’s is coming to West Memphis, Arkansas.
Less than a week after announcing a new Starbucks for the city, Mayor Marco McClendon announced Buc-ee’s Travel Center is planning a new 74,000-square-foot store for the area. In a post to social, McLendon said the store is expected to create about 225 jobs for the area.
The plan is for the Buc-ee’s to sit on 34 acres with ample room for parking, dining, and shopping. City leaders said the travel center will feature 120 fueling stations and all the amenities that Buc-ee’s is known for.
“I’ve been waiting a long time to welcome Buc-ee’s to West Memphis,” said McClendon in the post. “This is a huge win for our city and shows that we’re serious about creating new jobs and growing West Memphis. Buc-ee’s is more than just a travel center—it’s an experience. We’re proud to see a major brand like Buc-ee’s invest in our future, bringing jobs, tourism, and new businesses to our city.”
“The addition of Buc-ee’s is going to be a game-changer for tourism in West Memphis,” said Jim Jackson, Tourism Director for West Memphis. “Buc-ee’s will not only serve as a major stop for travelers but also draw new visitors to our area, showcasing everything West Memphis has to offer. We’re excited to see the impact Buc-ee’s will have on our local tourism and hospitality industry!”
Buc-ee’s is expected to break ground on the new location in the coming months, with an opening date to follow.
Earlier this year, Buc-ee's announced a new location in Gallaway in Fayette County, Tennessee.
