MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Another Memphis business is closing its doors.
Chuckles Comedy House in Cordova posted Sunday on its Facebook page that after 10 years of laughter, the comedy club has closed.
“We are proud to have given this city the recognition it deserves across the comedic board to have comics WANTING to come to Memphis for our intimate audience,” said the post. “We are grateful for Memphis and grateful to have been such a force within the community. Thank you all.”
Another posting on Aug. 17, 2024, before the announcement of the closure said that the rest of the shows for the month had been cancelled.
This is just the latest recent closure of a business in Memphis. Earlier in August, Black Lodge in Midtown Memphis announced it was closing its event venue but planned to move its video rentals to another location.
Just before that announcement, the Blind Bear in downtown Memphis announced its closure. And the Cheesecake Factory at Wolfchase Galleria shut its doors in July.
