MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Knifebird Wine Bar in Cooper-Young has permanently closed after five years, according to the bar's social media.

"Thank you, Memphis. We love y’all," read the caption of Knifebird's statement, posted to Instagram and Facebook.

Owners of Knifebird, located on 2155 Central Ave, said they closed their doors for good this past weekend.

"Goodbyes are hard, and this was an impossibly difficult decision for us," said the statement. "We've loved being apart of your lives. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to spend over five years welcoming you into our space. The friendships we've made along the way has been priceless.

Thank you for being apart of what we created."

As far as a reason for the closure, the statement cited the following:

"Owning a restaurant is tough. It's long hours, endless stress and financially draining.

We loved every minute of it. But we're exhausted.

This was a tough decision that didn't come lightly.

It was an amazing ride, and we'll miss you all so much!"
