MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – UPDATE 8/30/2019 – Alexander Lewis Jr. and Malik Martin made their first court appearance on the charges in the shooting Friday.

Bond was set at $350,000 for Lewis, and at $200,000 for Martin.

UPDATE 8/29/2019 – Memphis Police say three people have been arrested in a shooting that critically injured a 7-year-old boy Tuesday night.

Alexander Lewis Jr. Malik Martin, and an unnamed 17-year-old were arrested and charged with criminal attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.

8/28/2019 – A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 2700 block of Browning Avenue, in the Bethel Grove neighborhood.

According to the Memphis Police Department, someone shot into the home, hitting the child.

The boy was taken to Le Bonheur where he’s in critical condition.

The only suspect information is that he got into the passenger side of a 4-door vehicle, which went westbound from the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
