Here are the winners of the new Smokeslam BBQ Showdown at Tom Lee Park

59 teams are a part of Tom Lee Park's new competition, meeting head to head for $250,000. Organizers are calling it the "World’s Ultimate BBQ Showdown."

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It's official — Smokemasters BBQ lived up to their name as the "Grand Champion" Saturday at the Smokeslam BBQ Showdown.

The new Smokeslam BBQ Showdown is taking place at the former site of the World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest. This comes after a million dollar repair bill and legal battle developed following the 2023 competition, leaving Memphis in May organizers saying they would change locations in 2024.

Other first place winners from Saturday include the following teams in the following categories:

Here is the general information on Smokeslam, taking place May 16th-18th:

  • Single Day passes start at $24.99, a three-day pass will be $65
  • VIP Tickets start at $240 for one day and $599 for three days
  • 150 can purchase a $125 add-on to the VIP ticket for a Pitmaster Pass

According to organizers, the general pass will get ticketholders access to:

  • NBBQA BBQ Bazaar with a variety of celebrity chefs products for sale
  • Q&As
  • Cooking demos
  • The Smokeslam Market with more local retail options

VIP passes will allow access to:

  • The VIP lounge with private air-conditioned restrooms, WiFi and an exclusive bar
  • VIP access to the cooking demos
  • Premium parking for an additional fee

The Pitmaster Pass add-on allows 150 ticket holders to:

  • Mix and mingle with select BBQ teams
  • Meet with celebrity chef and pitmasters
  • View in-tent judging
  • Watch teams prepare for competitions

If we look at how tickets compare to the World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest now being held at Liberty Park the same weekend, WCBCC is going to be cheaper. A one day pass is $15 and a four day pass is $54. Smokeslam will have a bigger cash prize at $250,000.
