MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tickets are now live for the new BBQ competition coming to Tom Lee Park in May.
The new Smokeslam BBQ Showdown will take place at the former site of the World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest. This comes after a million dollar repair bill and legal battle developed following the 2023 competition, leaving Memphis in May organizers saying they would change locations in 2024.
Here is what the Smokeslam is going to look like May 16th-18th:
- Single Day passes start at $24.99, a three-day pass will be $65
- VIP Tickets start at $240 for one day and $599 for three days
- 150 can purchase a $125 add-on to the VIP ticket for a Pitmaster Pass
According to organizers, the general pass will get ticketholders access to:
- NBBQA BBQ Bazaar with a variety of celebrity chefs products for sale
- Q&As
- Cooking demos
- The Smokeslam Market with more local retail options
VIP passes will allow access to:
- The VIP lounge with private air-conditioned restrooms, WiFi and an exclusive bar

If we look at how tickets compare to the World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest now being held at Liberty Park the same weekend, WCBCC is going to be cheaper. A one day pass is $15 and a four day pass is $54. Smokeslam will have a bigger cash prize at $250,000.
