MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A person is dead and eight others are injured after a shooting took place Sunday at an event venue in Jackson, police said.
A spokesperson with the Jackson Police Department said the shooting happened Oct. 20 just before 1:30 a.m. during a party at the Picture Perfect Event Center on North Highland Avenue.
Investigators determined a nine people were injured in the shooting. Seven victims were taken to a hospital in Jackson. Five were treated and released. Two victims were airlifted to a hospital in Memphis. One victim, who was originally taken to Jackson General Hospital and later airlifted to Memphis, died.
