MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting in Hyde Park left a woman and man injured late Thursday night, police said.
The Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting June 20, 2024, around 11:30 p.m. on Dexter Avenue, where officers officers found a woman inside a blue car and a man outside injured from gunshots. The man had been shot in both feet while the woman had been shot in the upper right and inner left thigh.
According to the police, the man told officers that the woman was sitting in the blue car when another vehicle rolled up and shot at both of them. The man said he did not know who fired the shots.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but her status was later updated to non-critical. The man was taken to a hospital in non-critical condition.
Police found that other property in the area had also been hit by gunfire.
