MPD releases video in North Memphis shooting which injured 12-year-old girl

Memphis Police arrived at the shooting scene Monday, Nov. 27, just after 11:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Dexter Avenue.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released video of a shooting Monday night in North Memphis that left a 12-year-old girl injured.

The Memphis Police Department arrived at the shooting scene just after 11:30 p.m. Nov. 27, 2023, in the 2300 block of Dexter Ave., where officers found a 12-year-old girl injured. She was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition. 

Investigators released video showing two suspects on foot firing at the house, and a third shooter in the passenger side of a four-door light-colored sedan. They said the car was last seen on Dexter Ave., and the two who were walking ran away west on Dexter.

MPD investigators also told ABC24 they responded to another call about shots being fired at the home about 11 p.m. on Nov. 29. Officers said no property was hit and no one was injured in that shooting.

Aggravated Assault 2341 Dexter Avenue Report #2311031134ME MEMPHIS, TN – On November 27, 2023, at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers responded to an Aggravated Assault call at 2341 Dexter Avenue. Suspects fired several shots at two homes, striking a female teenager inside one of the homes. There were two suspects on foot firing shots, and a shooter was in the passenger side of a 4-door light-colored sedan. The suspect vehicle was last seen east on Dexter Avenue. The two suspects on foot ran west on Dexter Avenue. There were shell casings recovered at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation.
