MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A teen girl is dead after a shooting happened Wednesday night in Parkway Village near Wooddale High School.
The Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting on March 13, 2024, just after 11 p.m. in the 3300 block of Castleman Street, where officers found a 16-year-old girl suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
She was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in critical condition. The next morning, MPD said she died.
MPD said it was "accidental shooting with negligent circumstances" but said no one has been charged as of Thursday afternoon.
