MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been indicted in murder charges in a northeast Memphis shooting that left two people dead and two others hospitalized in January.
Court records show a Shelby County Grandy Jury indicted Dartagnan Lee Nov. 5, 2024, for two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of criminal attempt first-degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and a gun charge. He is in the Shelby County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.
The Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting Jan. 28 shortly after 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of West River Trace Drive at an apartment complex, where officers found two men dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said two others with multiple gunshot wounds were taken to hospitals.
Investigators said preliminary information had indicated that the victims knew the suspect.
According to an affidavit, a witness told investigators that people were having a house party in the apartment when someone known as "Reeload" pulled out a Glock handgun with an automatic firing switch and began shooting the people inside before running away from the scene. Thirty-one shell casings were found in the residence along with an empty Glock magazine.
Investigators later determined the suspect to be Lee, who was positively identified in a six-person lineup as the person responsible for the shooting, the affidavit said.
