MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people are dead and at least five others are injured after four Memphis shootings occurred on Thanksgiving.
The first shooting took place early Thursday morning in Binghampton.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded around 2:15 a.m. in the 300 block of Vandalia Street, where officers found a 15-year-old teen. He was pronounced dead.
Police announced Friday morning that two suspects in the case were charged.
The second shooting happened in a Hickory Hill neighborhood.
Around 3:30 p.m., Memphis Police responded to the 6200 block of Kingscrest Lane. There, they found two shooting victims, who were pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
A third victim ran away from the scene and has not been found, according to police, who are not sure whether the person was shot.
MPD said the shooting took place in the 5900 block of Little Brook Circle. There is no suspect information as of yet.
About four hours later, police responded to another shooting call in the 900 block of Kney Street around 7:16 p.m. in North Memphis. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and took him to Regional One Health in critical condition.
MPD received word about the last shooting about a couple of hours later, this time in Bethel Grove.
Dispatch said police arrived at the scene just after 9:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Kimball Avenue. Officers found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Two other women were taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
MPD said two suspects ran from the area, leaving a stolen car at the scene.
