MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said a 3-year-old girl was killed in an overnight shooting at a Whitehaven apartment complex Tuesday.
Thursday, her family identified her as Zoriana Walker.
MPD said officers responded to a shooting call in the 3400 block of W Winchester Place at Cambridge Court Apartments at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
Neighbors in the complex said there were a lot of people outside right before the shooting including kids. One neighbor told ABC 24 a couple was arguing and shortly after, people heard two gunshots.
MPD said the young girl was taken to Methodist South Hospital by a private vehicle, where she died.
MPD said the suspect is known to the child's family.
