MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is seriously injured after a shooting happened Thursday night in Binghampton.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded to the shooting call March 7, 2024, about 11:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Scott Street, where officers found a man in a 2012 Hyundai Sonata shot in the abdomen. He was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition. According to the police report, a woman at that scene was okay.
Investigators determined the shooting happened in the 300 block of Scott Street. There, they found about 30 shell casings and holes in the windows of at least two homes. A neighbor told police she was in bed when she heard gunfire, and she threw herself to the ground until it stopped.
Investigators said the woman at the scene with the car told them she had game night with her children and their father when her boyfriend showed up and started arguing with the father. She told police they went into the backyard arguing then she saw them walking across the street when the shots were fired.
Investigators have not released any other information on the suspect.
