MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released pictures of the suspects in a recent GameStop tore burglary.
It happened about 2 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at the store on Winchester Road.
According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the security company monitoring GameStop said four to five men were in the video game store at 6223 Winchester Road around 1:50 a.m.
When officers arrived, they saw that the front door was shattered and game cases were knocked over. The back room had also been destroyed and ransacked, police said.
Store video footage showed the men smashing the front door with a sledge hammer and stealing multiple items. According to police, the whole incident took about 5 minutes.
The suspects were wearing all-black clothing, gloves, and ski masks.
Police said around $20,000 worth of merchandise had been stolen, including included 10 PlayStation five consoles, 11 Xbox Series X, one Xbox 1S, 26 PlayStation controllers, 11 Nintendo Switches, and a box of used iPhones.
