MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released pictures of a suspect's vehicle in a shooting that left a teen who was selling water injured in Whitehaven.
MPD said the shooting took place at the Exxon in the 4600 block of Elvis Presley Blvd. near Shelby Dr. about 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2023. They said the victim was selling water when a blue-four door car with something white covering the driver's side rear window approached. Investigators said at least two people were inside, and someone in the back reached into the pockets of the young victim, then shot him in the leg before the car took off eastbound on Shelby Dr.
The victim was taken in critical condition to Methodist South Hospital in a private vehicle.
In a post to GoFundMe, the victim was identified by family as a 15-year-old who was trying to earn his own money and now faces mounting medical bills.
