MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A federal grand jury in Memphis is investigating the attempted auction of Elvis Presley’s former home, Graceland, according to a source briefed on the process.
This development comes more than a month after Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti announced that federal investigators would take over his office’s probe into the effort to sell off Graceland by a concern calling itself Naussany Investments.
The entity, which used addresses in Florida and Missouri, placed public notices in newspapers advertising its intent to auction off the estate at the front of the Shelby County Courthouse in May. Shelby County Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins ordered that the sale be put on hold the day before it was scheduled to take place.
