Man steals French bulldog from University of Memphis student walking it on campus, say police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — University of Memphis Police said they are investigating after a man stole a student's dog while she was walking it on campus.

UofM Police said the woman was walking her French bulldog about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Patterson and Mynders when a man approached. They said the man threatened her, indicated he had a weapon, then took the dog.

Investigators said the suspect took off in a blue Ford Mustang headed southbound on Patterson.

The suspect was described as about 6’ tall with dreadlocks, wearing a blue hoodie.
