OXFORD, Miss — According to Oxford Police, on Jan. 1, 2024, a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged for seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run.
At around 1 a.m. on Monday, the Oxford Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car that left the scene. Officers said they provided medical aid to the injured pedestrian until EMS arrived.
The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi but was later flown to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. The victim is currently listed in serious but stable condition, according to Oxford Police.
Police said patrol officers found the car and its driver, Parker Wesley Nannie, 20, of Germantown, a short time afterwards. He was arrested and charged with duties of driver involved in accident resulting in personal injury or death.
Nannie was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond, according to Oxford Police.
