MEMPHIS, Tenn. — MPD said they have arrested a man who shot a nine-year-old girl at a busy Midtown Memphis intersection on Nov. 28.
Memphis Police said their officers were flagged down on the corner of East Parkway and Poplar Avenue around 1:41 p.m. Tuesday, regarding a girl who had been shot.
Memphis Police said a nine-year-old girl, her mother and two other small children were inside a car when the mother's boyfriend began firing shots at them.
The nine-year-old girl was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in non-critical condition. On Nov. 29, police said she was in stable condition.
Memphis police said they issued a warrant for the man, Calbert Shaw-Reed, for four counts of aggravated assault, attempted first-degree murder and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
On Dec. 1, at 11:30 a.m., MPD and SCS Fugitive Teams found Shaw-Reed in the 200 block of North Waldron Blvd, according to police. They said they also recovered a weapon.
Shaw-Reed, 28, was charged with aggravated assault and convicted felon in possession of a handgun, police said. He had additional warrants for convicted felon in possession of a handgun and petition to revoke a suspended sentence, according to MPD.
