MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are investigating after burglars broke into a wireless store on Park Avenue.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) discovered the incident shortly before 3 a.m. in the 4000 block of Park Avenue at the Wireless City Mobile Repair store.
Officers saw that the glass entrance had been smashed, and tire marks were on the sidewalk and inside the store. The security cameras had also been ripped out, police said.
According to police, officers were told the owner may have some surveillance footage recorded before the suspects ripped out the cameras. In the video, a black Ford 5150 pickup truck drove into the store, and police said a "flash mob" of hooded burglars came in and stole merchandise. Police did not provide an estimate of how many suspects were involved in the crime.
An employee told officers that more than $10,000 worth of items were stolen, including Apple watches, tablets and iPhones.
Officers said the suspects are also believed to be involved in other burglaries in the Memphis area. MPD has not made any arrests at this time.
Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
