MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Horn Lake man faces child pornography charges after a search warrant of his home was conducted Thursday.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department said detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division conducted the search Feb. 1, 2024, at Aaron Whitten’s home in Horn Lake, Mississippi. They said “evidence related to the possession and distribution of child pornography was located,” but they didn’t detail what that evidence entailed.
DCSD investigators said Whitten gave a partial confession on the scene, then gave more “incriminatory statements” under questioning at the department.
Whitten is charged with one count of accessing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography, and one count of possessing child pornography. He was booked to the DeSoto County Jail.
“We are proud of the work our ICAC and Digital Forensics Detectives do to rid our county of criminals who attempt to exploit innocent children, and these criminals should heed our warning: We will find you, and we will use every resource at our disposal to ensure you are apprehended and punished for your crimes,” said a statement from the sheriff’s office.
