MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A person is now in custody Tuesday after police said they were carrying a rifle in Hyde Park near Promise Academy, causing the school to go under lockdown.
The Memphis Police Department responded to an armed party call on April 30 before 12 p.m. on Bryan Street near the charter school.
Around 12:15 p.m., police confirmed that officers detained the suspect.
Promise Academy's lockdown has since been lifted.
