SPD officers said they took Brian Damron into custody after the victim escaped about 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, on Dela Drive.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Southaven Police Department (SPD) has a man in custody they said tied up and assaulted a victim over the last two days.

SPD officers said they learned of an “unlawful confinement and aggravated assault” about 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, on Dela Drive. When they got there, they said the victim told investigators that Brian Damron had tied them up and physically assaulted them for the last two days, before passing out after drinking alcohol and taking medication.

SPD said the victim was able to escape when Damron passed out and was taken to the hospital with several injuries.

Investigators said SWAT officers responded to the scene and were able to take Damron into custody without further incident.

SPD said Damron has a criminal history in other states, including for charges of unlawful imprisonment, second-degree assault under extreme emotional disturbances, wanton endangerment, and third-degree burglary.
