HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — A man is in jail after a shooting left a woman dead and child injured Sunday in Hardin County.
The Hardin County Sheriff's Department went to investigate a homicide around 4 p.m. in the 100 block of Emmaus Way in Savannah, where deputies found 24-year-old Zoe Johnson shot. Deputies also found a 3-year-old child who had been shot.
First responders rushed Johnson to the Hardin Medical Center, where she died. The child was taken to a Nashville hospital in critical condition.
Authorities later arrested 42-year-old Clint Newton, taking him to the Hardin County Jail and charging him with second-degree murder.
