MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A suspect is now charged with murder in the shooting deathof a downtown Memphis restaurant worker.
DeMarcus Wooten is charged with first degree murder in thedeath of Casey Tinker.
According to the police affidavit, Tinker was found dead inhis car September 17th in the 3800 block of Maid Marian Lane. He hadbeen shot several times. Tinker’s family posted on social media that he hadbeen returning home from work at Flight Restaurant downtown when he was killed.
According to the affidavit, a witness and an unnamedco-defendant told investigators they were in a stolen Jeep when they stopped inthe 1100 block of Goodman. The witness told police the co-defendant and Wootenjumped out and tried to rob Tinker. He told investigators Tinker started to fightback, and that’s when Wooten shot twice into Tinker’s car.
Tinker was able to drive off, and it was later when policefound him dead in his car on Maid Marian Lane.
Bond has not been set for Wooten. He is due in court Monday.
