Man injured after Oakhaven shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man died from his injuries a day after a shooting happened late Sunday night in Oakhaven.

The Memphis Police Department responded to a robbery call July 28, 2024, around 11:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Durrand Drive, where officers found a man on the ground with a bullet wound in his right leg.

The victim was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition.

A witness told police that three men had been trying to rob the victim. When they did not find anything on him, they became upset and then shot the man, the witness said. The suspects then ran north into an apartment complex.

No arrests have been made at this time.
