MEMPHIS, Tenn. — On Tuesday, a Shelby County judge found a man guilty of multiple offenses from a 2019 rape case involving a minor, according to the District Attorneys Office.

David Pruett was found guilty of rape of a child, especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to a press release from the DA's office, the offenses stemmed from an incident where Pruett photographed a minor performing a sexual act.

During the two-day trial, the state presented several witnesses, including Pruett, the victim’s aunt, the responding officer, forensic interviewer Pat Lewis and criminal investigator AJ Kant, who interacted with a jail informant.

Kant's testimony revealed the informant said where Pruett's hard drives were that included images Memphis Police found.

Pruett's prison term is unknown at this time.
