MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is injured after a shooting happened overnight in East Memphis.

The Memphis Police Department said the incident began when a two-vehicle crash occurred between a white Dodge Challenger and Volkswagen Passat around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the intersection of Sanderlin Avenue and South White Station Road.

Both drivers left their cars. Then the driver of the Dodge Challenger shot at the other, who ran away toward East Racquet Club Place and jumped over a brick wall to escape, according to the police report.

The suspect and a passenger of the Dodge Challenger then stole a sedan belonging to another person who had stopped and stepped out of his sedan to check the accident. The suspect and passenger drove away.
