MEMPHIS, Tenn — UPDATE 12/9/2020 - Two men are now charged with first degree murder and attempted robbery in the shooting death of a man at a northeast Memphis motel.
According to the police affidavit, video showed Joshua Black and Daron Clayborne approaching the victim, identified as Jimmy Moore, outside the motel on Sycamore View. Investigators said the video showed Black and Clayborne hitting Moore over the head, going through his pockets, then shooting him before taking off.
Investigators tracked Black down through the temporary tag on the suspect's vehicle. They said the driver told them Black and Clayborne told him to follow Moore from the store to the motel, where they got out. He said he heard gunshots, and the two jumped back in and told him to drive away.
According to the affidavit, Black and Clayborne both admitted to the shooting.
No bond has been set. They are scheduled for court Dec. 10th.

12/8/2020 - A man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning at a motel in Northeast Memphis.
Memphis police were called to American's Best Value Inn in the 1500 block of Sycamore View just after midnight.
The shooting victim was taken to Baptist Hospital where he later died.
There is no suspect information.
This is an ongoing investigation.
