Search for suspects underway after morning shooting in South Memphis

MPD officers responded to the shooting just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Lucy Ave., near Pond St.

MEMPHIS, Tenn — Memphis Police are investigating a shooting Saturday morning in South Memphis.

MPD officers responded to the shooting just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, in the 700 block of Lucy Ave., near Pond St. They found a man shot, and he was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators have not said what led to the shooting or released any information on suspects.
