Marshall County district supervisor charged with grand theft for stealing wheat, water from field he didn't own

MARSHALL COUNTY, Miss — An elected official in Marshall County, Mississippi, is facing felony charges alongside his son and another man for allegedly harvesting wheat they did not plant in a field owned by a construction company.

According to a Marshall County grand jury indictment obtained by ABC24, Marshall County District 3 supervisor Keith Taylor, his son, and another man are charged with two counts of grand theft, one between $5,000 and $25,000 and another between $1,000 and $5,000, for stealing wheat and water from a field they did not own.

The indictment said Taylor and his cohorts stole between $5,000 and $25,000 worth of wheat belonging to Yates Construction, and between $1,000 and $5,000 worth of water from the Marshall County Water Association on May 30, 2024.

If convicted, Taylor could face up to 15 years in prison, and a $20,000 fine.
