MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was arrested after his two-year-old child was found sleeping in the back seat of his car within arms reach of two loaded handguns with Glock switches, according to the Memphis Police Department.
According to a Memphis Police arrest affidavit, officers pulled over an Infiniti with no license plate on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 around 4:25 p.m. in the area of Calvert Avenue.
The driver, Deangelo Johnson, was unable to give officers a driver's license, and officers found in their driver registration system that he had no license.
In the back seat, officers said they found a two-year-old child asleep in the backseat within reach of two loaded handguns, both with Glock switches. One handgun had a 24-round extended magazine. The other handgun was found to be stolen from a 2023 home invasion.
Glock switches are devices that turn semi-automatic handguns into fully-automatic machine pistols.
Johnson was arrested and charged with aggravated child endangerment and possession of a Glock switch.
