Memphis murder suspect captured by U.S. Marshals

MEMPHIS, Tenn — The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) captured a man Monday morning for charges related to a June 2024 murder in Memphis.

An arrest warrant was issued for 27-yeard-old Roland Robinson on July 9, 2024 for second degree and attempted second degree murder. 

According to the USMS, they tracked down Robinson's location to the 40 block of East Dempster Avenue in South Memphis around 9 a.m. 

A Shelby County Sheriff's Office K9 found Robinson hiding in a closet at Summit Park Apartments, where he was later arrested.

The case was adopted for a fugitive investigation by the USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis.

On June 17, 2024, Cory Allen was found shot to death near the 1700 block of Wilchester in Whithaven. Another man was also shot at but not hit. Memphis Police conducted an investigation and declared Robinson as a suspect.

Medical personnel evaluated Robinson on the scene, and he was taken to the Shelby County Jail.
