MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have canceled a City Watch Alert after they said a 3-year-old was found safe after being abducted by the child's non-custodial father, who was then involved in a crash.
MPD said the 3-year-old was taken Wednesday morning, April 24, 2024, about 10 a.m., by the 29-year-old non-custodial father. Investigators told ABC24 the two were about to get on a Greyhound in the 3000 block of Airways when the dad took off with the child.
Police said after the father took off, he then crashed his vehicle near I-240 and S. Parkway.
About 30 minutes after issuing the alert, MPD said the child and father were found and the child was unharmed. Further details were not released.
