Memphis Police investigating multiple weekend shootings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There have been multiple separate shootings starting on Friday in the city of Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

Memphis Police said they responded towards 5:30 p.m. on Friday night to 29 North Avalon Street. Officers said they found a man who was a victim who had been shot. He was transported to Regional One in critical condition, according to MPD.

This is an ongoing investigation, according to MPD.

MPD said another shooting took place in the 3900 block of Lacewood Drive.

MPD said another shooting took place in the 900 block of E.H. Crump Boulevard. Officers said they responded shortly after 5 p.a. to find two men who had been shot. 

They both were transported to Regional One in critical condition, according to MPD.

This is an ongoing investigation, they said.

Officers also responded to a shooting in the 2700 block of Kimball Avenue, according to MPD. This took place shortly after 5 p.m. as well and officers said they found a woman who had been shot at this location.

She was transported to Regional One in critical condition, according to MPD.

This is an ongoing investigation, they said.

Memphis Police said a deadly shooting took place on Jonett Street on Saturday night.

Officers said they responded shortly after 11 p.m. and found a man who had been shot in the 4700 block of Jonett Street.

This man was transported to Regional One in critical condition, where he was found to be dead, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD). 

MPD said another shooting took place on Sunday in the 600 block of Phelen Avenue. They said they located two men who had been shot after officers responded towards 2 p.m.

These two men were transported to area hospitals in critical condition, according to MPD.

They said this is an ongoing investigation.
