MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are asking for help finding a hit-and-run driver who killed one woman and injured another Friday morning in Frayser.
MPD officers responded to a crash about 7:45 a.m., at Overton Crossing St. and Burnham Ave. They said a late-model maroon over-gray vehicle had struck two pedestrians.
Both women were taken to Regional One Hospital, where one of them died from her injuries. The other woman remains in critical condition.
The hit-and-run driver never attempted to render aid to the pedestrian who did not survive her sustained injuries, police said.
Investigators said the maroon car was driving north on Overton Crossing St. The vehicle made a left to west on Burnham Ave, and the car lost control and hit both pedestrians. The vehicle went through the field south of the intersection going south on Overton Crossing Street.
The vehicle will have front driver-side damage, police said.
