MEMPHIS, Tenn. — According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), an employee at the Soul Fish Cafe was robbed while trying to enter through the backdoor Sunday morning.
On April 7, 2024, at around 8:45 a.m., officers responded to the robbery at the Soul Fish Cafe on 4720 Poplar Ave., according to MPD.
A man was about to open the restaurant, entering the business at the backdoor, police said.
While the employee's back was turned toward the door, man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black tennis shoes ran up to the victim and pointed a pistol in his back, then took the victim's wallet from his rear pocket and ran away east from the business, MPD said.
No arrests have been made at this time, according to MPD.
Memphis Police have also released a video of the robbery.
