Memphis Police squad car set on fire at downtown precinct Monday night, says MFD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Investigators are searching for whoever set fire to a Memphis Police squad car at a Downtown precinct Monday night.

The Memphis Fire Department said it responded to a call about a vehicle fire just after 8:30 p.m. Nov. 25, 2024, at 444 N. Main St. That’s the MPD North Main Station.

MFD investigators said they found a squad car had been set on fire between the back wheels at the rear undercarriage.

No one was hurt, but the fire caused about $40,000 damage.

No one has been arrested, but whoever is responsible could face arson charges.
