MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are investigating an incident Friday night that saw one of their marked squad cars stolen during a foot chase in East Memphis.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) said an officer was chasing a suspect on foot near the 2800 block of Kirby Road around 6:30 p.m. Friday, when their marked patrol car was stolen. Memphis police said the car was recovered in the 5000 block of Judy Lynn Avenue, but no one is in police custody as of Friday night.
MPD has confirmed that a shotgun is missing from the squad car. There is no suspect information available as of press time from MPD.
MPD said they're still investigating the incident.
