MEMPHIS, Tenn. — According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), a man is dead after being shot near a church on Airways Boulevard and Park Avenue.
At 9:33 p.m., MPD said they responded to a man-down call in the 2300 block of Park Ave. A man was shot in between two buildings, one of them Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist, MPD said.
The man was taken to Regional One in critical condition, according to police. He later died from his injuries.
MPD said they have no suspect information at this time. They said this incident is an ongoing homicide investigation.
Officers said this shooting has no relation to the shooting outside of First Baptist Church on East Parkway, which police responded to around an hour prior.
