MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said a mother has been charged, accused of attacking family members on Thanksgiving Day.
Lachunda Johnson, 55, is charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, aggravated assault, and domestic assault.
According to MPD, officers were called to Methodist South Hospital about 3 p.m. Nov. 28, 2024, when two people showed up with knife wounds to their hands.
MPD said one of the victims told investigators that her mother and several others had been at a home in the 200 block of Delta Rd. when Johnson and the two victims got into an argument.
The daughter told police that Johnson charged at her with a knife she had gotten from the kitchen, cutting the victim in her hand. Investigators said another male was struck by the knife on his hand as well. Investigators said three children had been at the scene at the time of the stabbing, but they were not hurt.
According to MPD, Johnson’s daughter told investigators had been drinking and was probably drunk at the time. She said Johnson had walked out of the house.
Officers said they found Johnson in the 3600 block of Cazassa Rd. and she was arrested.
