MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man has been charged in a shooting that left a man dead early Friday morning in Downtown Memphis.
Memphis Police told ABC24 that Karl Loucks is being charged with first-degree murder.
MPD officers responded to the shooting call May 31, 2024, just before 3 a.m. at Main Street and Court Avenue, near the Moxy Memphis Downtown hotel. There, officers found a man seriously hurt.
He was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
Later in the morning, Memphis police were on Main Street, near where the original shooting happened, and said they had one person detained in relation to the incident.
