MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing a murder charge after a shooting left another man dead in southeast Memphis.

Antonio Patton, 38, has been charged with second-degree murder. His bond has been set at $250,000.

MPD officers responded to the shooting about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, in the 3500 block of Wingood Circle, not far from Goodlett and Winchester.

Investigators said officers found one man shot and he was taken in critical condition to Regional One Hospital, where he later died.

According to an affidavit, a witness said Patton shot the victim in the chest after an argument turned physical between the two. At one point, the victim had sat down on a milk crate. That's when Patton, who was known as "Bookie," shot the victim, the witness said.

Patton was identified in a six-person photo lineup.
