MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police have released pictures and video of the suspects they said shot a woman in the back of the neck after she agreed to give them a ride after a party.
MPD officers responded to a man-down call about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, in the 200 block of W. Johnson Circle at the Eastern Heights Apartment Complex. Investigators said they found a woman shot, and she was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
Police said the woman was able to tell officers she had driven several people to the apartments after they asked her for a ride from a party they had all been at in the area of Dwight and Pendleton.
Investigators said the suspects shot the woman in the back of the neck while still inside her car. They said the attackers then pulled her from the car and laid her on the concrete, then went through her pockets and stole her purse before running westbound to the Greenline trail behind the complex.
